The Open-Ended Pension Fund “Master Pension Fund” enables any individual or employer, who aims to increase social responsibility by contributing to the pensions of their employees, to invest in a long-term fund in the LEK currency with a low risk profile. The fund is addressed to members who prioritize security, long-term returns and liquidity at retirement age.
The Fund offers high transparency. Each member of the Fund is provided with credentials (username and password) to access online anywhere and at any time his individual account for assets including the assessment of the net asset value, the total change in assets for the 12-month period, the rate of return on investment for the fund for the 12-month period, the return on investment since the beginning of participation in the fund, the dates of contributions and transfers of assets made by or on behalf of the member during the relevant period in the Fund.
Any contribution made by each member of the pension fund is deductible from the gross salary for tax purposes up to the minimum wage level.
Also, investments in the fund are exempt from tax on interest and capital gains.
The “Master Pension” Pension Fund invests in long-term bonds guaranteed by the Albanian state, in long-term bonds issued by the governments of EU and OECD member states, in bonds of international financial institutions (supranational) such as the World Bank, the European Central Bank, the European Investment Bank, having a low risk profile. Interest rates are dependent on market performance and may fluctuate, affecting the fluctuation of the investment value.
Withdrawal of assets accumulated in the member’s account can be made when the member meets the conditions provided for in the law. Withdrawal can be made in full or periodically in the form of a pension. In any other case, we are dealing with premature withdrawal.
If the member dies before receiving payment for all of his assets, the assets in his account will be distributed to his heirs in accordance with the legal provisions governing inheritance.
